NE1 Newcastle Lunch Club review

NE1's Newcastle Lunch Club initiative

I was delighted when  Newcastle NE1  gifted me the opportunity to try out their new Lunch Club offer. Following on from the resounding success of NE1's Newcastle Restaurant Week, this is a great way of trying new places at lunchtime in Newcastle on a Tuesday.

Where did we go?

I have never been to EL&N (Eat Live & Nourish) in  Fenwick Newcastle. So when I found out they were taking part in the lunch club offer, I was so excited to visit them.

Making quality time to catch up

I have been so busy recently, and so has my daughter, who is doing amazing work as a singer-songwriter. She has 5 gigs in February alone, which is so exciting!! The lunch club offer was a perfect opportunity for us to take some time to relax, catch up and spend some quality time together, and it didn't disappoint. The offer is great, as I am already thinking of meeting up with people I work with or business connections who would thoroughly enjoy it. Visiting family and friends would also love to sample some local food and drink, and this offer makes it affordable to eat out while also supporting local businesses.

A friendly welcome is guaranteed

The whole team at EL&N is really friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. We were served by Brendan and Mark. Brendan took some pictures of us too, and knew exactly what angle was needed to capture the perfect snap of us together witha gorgeous backdrop.

Every weekend I am on Newcastle Quayside, I get to talk to local visitors who always say the people in the North East of England are the friendliest they have ever met. So you know if you are eating out in Newcastle, you are bound to get a very warm welcome.

And they were delicious. Thanks, NE1, for this delicious treat. The portions were very generous but more on that later.

The cakes and desserts are made fresh on site, so we had to give these a sample too. We couldn't finish all of the food we ordered, so Mark very kindly packed it up for us to finish later. My husband and son were very happy about this. The portion sizes are very generous to say the least.

Supporting Local Businesses

To find out what restaurants and cafes are part of the lunch club offer, and see the items and combos you can get for £7.50 or £10, head over to NE1 for more information.

I love that so many independent local businesses are also taking part, so you can support them too. Wherever you choose, you will be supporting the local hospitality industry and protecting local people's jobs, so it's a win-win all around. Delicious food, friendly welcome, saving money and supporting local businesses and people, what a wonderful combo.
